Pythons

Reading non-fiction is important for little learners to develop their background knowledge and vocabulary.  Pairing non-fiction and fiction gives us the opportunity to compare stories to fact.  Today we found facts inside a picture book about pythons and were excited to learn a little something as well as be entertained.  Comprehension questions were used as a follow up.

Patterns on the 300 chart (grade 3) and 900 (grade 4) were the goal today.  We wrote about patterns when counting by 5, 10 and 100.  Tomorrow we will look at counting by 25.

Biodegradable and decomposers were the words of the day.  Looking at waste in our world we talked about how these are two important components.

Read 20/10 and record on the yellow reading log.
