We have begun practising reading to ourselves in the classroom. We started with a discussion about who reads and quickly came to the conclusion that everyone reads! We will be building stamina in the month of September for reading to ourselves. My goal is 30 minutes of uninterrupted reading time every day. Staying in one spot, quiet, reading the book 3 ways, and thinking about the book are the rules we agreed on. Today we made it to 1:34 seconds and someone got out of their desk. So we reset the stopwatch and tried again. We made 10 minutes before little voices were heard. Not too shabby for our first try.
Ask your child to tell you about Number Detectives that we started today. We begin every morning with the 10 question activity.
A set of forms were sent home today for your completion and signatures. Please return them with the Digital Citizenship form by Friday this week.
