We are well on our way to becoming number detectives! We are starting each morning by building a number from two digits and then answering 10 questions about that number. Little learners are showing that they think flexibly about numbers and can represent their number in various ways. Questions such as write the number in words, write the standard form of your number, write the expanded form of your number are explored.
We have read the poem, Friends by Jessica Crum, together and found that she wrote in a pattern! We also found that there was a pattern to her use of capitals and periods. We brainstormed together things we like to do with our friends and then we started writing our own poem following Ms. Crum's pattern about friends.
Please have headphones for your child that they can keep at school for computer use - labeled with their name please.
