We began nonfiction writing today with the purpose of providing our reader with facts and information about the 3 types of rocks in the rock cycle. Our rock book will share our understanding of rocks, use descriptive language, and include non-fiction text features such as chapters, diagrams and headings. We continue to work towards our writing goals of making our writing interesting for our reader and making our writing clear for our reader.
Thirteen Moons On A Turtles Back is our mentor text this week for visualizing. The poems explain the changing seasons and the thirteen cycles of the moon according to Indigenous legend. Everyone has a poem to read, picture words to find, sense words to look for, visualize and draw. We will put all our pictures together on the turtle's back when we are finished and I will share with you the results!
