There should be a notice in a backpack near you regarding our in-school field trip Thursday March 21. We are having Teacher's Pet back into our classroom because we enjoyed them so much when they were here in January. This time round they will be helping us with science. If you can help out that morning drop me an email. This project has a $10.00 price tag please.
We have started looking at the comprehension strategy of asking questions before, during and after reading. Good readers ask themselves questions as they read to understand the text and figure out the deep meaning of the book. We have brainstormed question words (who, if, what, does) and talked about THE MOST important one of all, I wonder... We already know that quick questions are easy to ask, easy to answer and are right there in the book while deep questions are the meaningful questions that make us think beyond the text and may not have an answer at all. Be prepared for some questions tonight!
