Through our problem solving in math this morning we discovered that if a shape has three sides, three vertices and three angles then it will have three lines of symmetry. We also found out that there is a pattern to shapes!! Help your little learner with the concept of symmetry by dropping it into conversations - cut the sandwich into symmetrical pieces. Where is the line of symmetry?
Using our mentor text this week - The Raft by Jim Lamarche we made some connections to the vocabulary of the story. Students were writing their own personal sentences using the words that came up such as dock and bobber. This will help them as little readers to put pictures in their heads.
